TOTEM ROAD Curated X Bettina McILwraith Workshop Series
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
For this workshop, Visual Artist Paula do Prado will guide you to create your very own unique soft sculpture through the use of traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques including fabric, paper, yarn, plastic, beads, wrapping, hand stitch and binding.
WHO CAN DO THIS?
This workshop is designed for all levels of ability. Those with no prior experience working with textiles will get an intensive introduction to the tactile and sculptural potential of cloth and some basic techniques to get them started. For more experienced participants there will be a range of pre-made forms, tools and embelishments available to use and guidance on Paula's own experimental techniques. Over the 3 hour workshop, participants will receive one on one guidance from the tutor as well as the opportunity to handle and explore soft sculptural artwork examples.
All materials provided including exclusive use of one off fabrics painted and manipulated by the artist specifically for the workshop. This is a fun and experimental workshop and everyone will be able to take home a soft sculpture form of their own. Light snacks and organic teas will be served.
