Tea ceremonies and rituals are sometimes considered to be a type of meditation that create the space to promote a state of mindfulness. Traditionally the surroundings and utensils used for tea ceremonies were designed to reflect tranquility and a resting ambience for the mind.

Aside from being comforting and a pleasant social experience, sharing a pot of tea with friends can also have significant impact on your health and wellbeing. The health benefits of drinking tea have been well documented in recent years.

The main therapeutic compounds found in tea are referred to as tea polyphenols, catechins or flavonoids. As a group, they are powerful antioxidants that reduce damage to fats, protein and cells as well as having various anti-cancer effects.
